Hey I was wondering of you could explain your tweet about emo culture being inherently mysoginistic? Cause I've always kinda gotten that feeling from it but I haven't been able to really articulate why, and you seem really well spoken

It generally represents women as an “other”. It’s basis champions male emotion as if it’s something unique or commendable simply because it’s male. The gist of most songs is that women are incapable of being rationale or kind and the men are always victims.

I don’t fuck with any of that shit. On top of all that it’s fucking math rock dude bro guitar music and i don’t fuck with that shit.

I don’t fuck with sad boy culture or the idea that sadness is cool or unique or interesting. We do not write sad music we write songs about our lives. I can’t respect shit that demeans women, demeans those suffering actual depression, etc.

Also the sound of two dudes with bad hair cuts screaming at each other at different pitches is the most unappealing shit.

Fuck emo, emo culture, all that shit. We’ve never listened to it and never supported it. Don’t put us in that “scene” or any scene essentially.

Xoxoxo

I’m lonely but that’s kind of my fault since my misfortune of people losing interest of me
